Norway Tour Packages
from Delhi

Trade Delhi's summer heat for cool fjords, or its winter smog for Arctic skies and the Northern Lights.

The Destination

Norway tour packages from Delhi, planned around Delhi's seasons

Our Norway tour packages from Delhi are built around the two moments Delhi most wants to escape. In May and June, while the city bakes above 40°C, Norway's fjords are cool and green, with daylight that barely ends. From late autumn to early spring, while Delhi is grey with winter smog, Arctic Norway offers crisp air, snow and the chance to see the Northern Lights.

We take care of the parts that make Norway tricky to plan alone: the one-stop flight from Delhi, the timing of the Flam Railway and fjord cruises, domestic flights to Tromso or Alta, hotels that suit Indian families, and the Schengen visa appointment in Delhi.

Getting There

Delhi to Norway: airport, flight routes and connections

There is no non-stop flight from Delhi to Norway, so every trip includes one connection. The right hub depends on your arrival city and the time of year.

Delhi (DEL) to Norway

  • Via Doha or Dubai: late-night departures from IGI with a daytime arrival in Oslo. Popular for their generous baggage allowances, useful for winter clothing.
  • Via Istanbul, Frankfurt or Helsinki: shorter total journey times on some days, and handy for onward connections to Bergen or Tromso.
  • To Tromso or Alta: usually via Oslo with a domestic flight of about 2 hours, as there are no direct flights from India to Arctic Norway.

Within Norway

  • Oslo to Bergen: the scenic Bergen Line railway, about 7 hours, or a 50-minute domestic flight.
  • Myrdal to Flam: the Flam Railway, one of the world's steepest standard-gauge lines, followed by a Naeroyfjord cruise.
  • Bergen or Oslo to the Arctic: domestic flights to Tromso, Alta or Lofoten.

Delhi travel tips

International flights leave from IGI Terminal 3. From Gurgaon or South Delhi allow 30–60 minutes; from Noida or East Delhi allow 1–1.5 hours in evening traffic.

Book Norway's trains, cruises and domestic flights only after your Delhi flight is fixed, as winter delays and summer sell-outs can break tight connections.

For winter trips, buy thermal base layers in Delhi before you go. Heavy thermal suits are usually provided on Arctic tours.

Your Holiday Calendar

Planning a Norway trip around Delhi's holidays

Summer holidaysMay–June. Cool fjord weather, blossom in Hardanger, and the Midnight Sun in Tromso from late May.
DiwaliOctober–November. The start of the aurora season, with autumn colours and far fewer tourists.
Winter breakDecember–January. Christmas markets, snow and the polar night in the Arctic, when the Northern Lights can appear in the afternoon darkness.

For summer trips, book fjord cruises, the Flam Railway and family rooms 3–6 months ahead. For Christmas and New Year, book 4–8 months ahead. Read more in our guide to Christmas holidays in Norway.

Good to Know

Norway packages from Delhi: FAQs

No. There is currently no non-stop flight from Delhi to Norway. Most travellers connect once through a Gulf hub such as Doha or Dubai, or a European hub such as Istanbul, Frankfurt or Helsinki, and land in Oslo. Total journey time is usually 12–16 hours.

Seven to ten days works well for Oslo, the Flam Railway, the fjords and Bergen. If you are adding Tromso or Alta for the Northern Lights, or Sweden and Denmark, plan 10 to 14 days.

Norway is one of Europe’s more expensive destinations. The cost depends on the season, hotel category, scenic rail and fjord cruises, Arctic experiences and flights. We share an exact quote once your dates and route are fixed, and our Norway trip cost guide gives typical budgets.

Indian passport holders need a Schengen visitor visa. You fill in the online application, then give your biometrics and documents at the Norway visa application centre in Delhi. The visa fee is around EUR 90 for adults, plus a service charge. Apply at least six to eight weeks before travel, as summer appointments fill quickly.

Yes. When Delhi is above 40°C in May and June, Norway’s fjord country is usually between 15°C and 22°C, with long daylight hours and, in the Arctic north, the Midnight Sun.

The aurora season in northern Norway runs from around late September to early April. Diwali and the Christmas–New Year break both fall in this window. Clear, dark skies matter most, so we plan three or more nights in Tromso or Alta. The lights can never be guaranteed.

Thermal base layers, a fleece, a warm insulated jacket, gloves, a woollen hat and waterproof boots with good grip. Many Northern Lights tours in Tromso provide heavy thermal suits, so you do not need to buy full Arctic gear in Delhi.

Yes. Scenic trains, fjord cruises, museums and easy nature walks work well for children. We keep transfer days manageable and choose family rooms, which can be limited in Norway, well in advance.

Vegetarian food is easy to find in Oslo and Bergen, which also have Indian restaurants. In remote fjord villages and Arctic lodges, choices are smaller, so we share your dietary needs with hotels in advance.

Yes. One Schengen visa covers all of them. Popular combinations include Oslo, the fjords and Stockholm, or Tromso with Finnish Lapland in winter.

International flights can be included or quoted separately. We help you choose a connection from Delhi that fits your onward trains, fjord cruises or domestic flights within Norway.

Payments are made in INR through Indian banking channels. GST and TCS apply to overseas tour packages; TCS can be claimed against your income tax. The payment schedule and cancellation terms are shared before you confirm.
